Hailing from the Labeat tribe, Genti was the last ruler of the Illyrians. As the tale tells, he set himself against Rome and had quite expansive ideas for the lands of Illyria, including centralized monetary, fiscal and military authority. This ultimately led to his demise. If these historical bits and pieces are correct, we believe this 45MM glossy-white dial stamped with a classic eagle, represents his pure intentions for his land(s); the red Italian, genuine leather strap is symbolic of the loss faced by the Illyrians against Rome— when the Romans marched north of Shkodra lake, where Genti was captured, and where Illyrians lay their arms to rest. The classic eagle and logo are engraved on the back case, crown, strap and buckle of this piece.
